It’s a good thing that political campaigns here in Sidney don’t cost as much as they do in state-wide or national runs for office, isnt’ it?
But that doesn’t mean that political races in Sidney cost nothing. We still need to raise money to fund Democratic candidates for offices such as Town Council, Town Clerk, Mayor, Village Board and Superintendent of Highways.
In past races, just having enough money in the bank to send a mailing to all the registered voters in Sidney could have made all the difference. We don’t want to send any more Democrats into local races without the support they need.
There’s also the little matter of being an active committee. We want to be able to send postal mailings to those of our town Democrats who don’t have Internet access. Some of our sponsored events and activities will cost money, too.
That’s where you come in. A small donation of even as little as $5 can help us elect Democrats to village and town office, keep us out in the open and make Sidney a two party town.
